The Sunset series is a series of mixed media paintings on canvas using acrylic, acrylic mediums and ink. When making these 4 paintings I had recently read about Piet Mondrian and loved the bold quality of his colour work. At the same time I wanted to place a childlike spin on my work by adding the drips and using the texture beneath to create a unique view of the sky at sunset. Breaking the view down into sections of colour which washes away once night falls.
